Meow-mory - Game Design Experiment

Meow-mory is a cat-themed memory game where the goal is to find matching pairs of cards. I built it as a playful experiment to see how far I could take a small interactive idea, from visual design and motion to a fully playable game built in Figma Make.

Visual design

I kept the overall interface clean and minimalist, so nothing distracts from the game itself. Color appears only on the cards. That choice is part of the gameplay: when the colors are similar, the cards are harder to tell apart at a glance, so players have to rely more on memory than on quick visual cues.

Motion

I used Figma Motion to animate three key moments: the start screen, the success screen, and the fail screen. These small animations give the game personality and make each outcome feel rewarding (or a little dramatic), so the experience is more engaging overall.

Building it

I wanted Meow-mory to feel like a real game, not just a clickable prototype. So I built it in Figma Make, which turned the design into a fully playable experience. The cards really flip, pairs are checked as you play, and each round leads to a win or a loss. Instead of only showing how the game would look, I could test how it actually feels to play.
